This ARP 208-4702 kit replaces the Honda F20C and F22C cylinder head bolts with studs. It is one of the first upgrades performed on an engine that is going to have its power increased, as the head gasket is one of the first points to fail.
They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated by ARP themselves to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. ARP grinds each stud after heat treatment to ensure it is straight and concentric, and rolls the threads at the end of the process; this achieves a fatigue resistance approximately twenty times greater than that of a thread made before heat treatment.
