Description

ARP cylinder head stud kit for Mazda 2L and 2.3L DOHC 16V (2003+), part number 218-4702. It replaces the stock head bolts with studs and nuts, a solution that distributes the load better across the gasket and avoids damaging the block threads every time the cylinder head is removed.

They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated by ARP to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. The threads are rolled after heat treatment, which gives ARP studs superior fatigue strength, and the final grinding ensures that the cylinder head and gasket seat perfectly aligned during installation.

Follow the torque and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using engine oil will change the actual torque. Before ordering, confirm your engine code; if you are not sure, we can help you check it.
