ARP 218-4704 head studs are made for the Ford 2.5L 24v V6 (KL). Replacing the stock bolts with studs helps keep the head gasket sealed when the engine is running higher turbo pressure or higher compression.
They are manufactured from ARP2000, a proprietary alloy from ARP that reaches a tensile strength of approximately 220,000 psi and maintains its properties under heat better than chrome-moly. ARP precision-ground each stud after heat treatment to ensure it is straight and concentric, and threads are rolled after heat treatment; this results in a fatigue strength about twenty times higher than that of threads cut before heat treatment.
