This ARP 251-4703 kit replaces the Ford Focus RS 2.5L cylinder head bolts with studs. It is one of the first upgrades made to an engine that is going to have its power increased, as the head gasket is one of the first points to fail.
They are manufactured from ARP2000, an ARP proprietary alloy that reaches a tensile strength of approximately 220,000 psi and maintains its properties under temperature better than chrome-moly. ARP precision-grinds every stud after heat treatment to ensure it is straight and concentric, and threads are rolled after the heat treatment process; this provides a fatigue strength about twenty times higher than a thread cut before treatment.
Follow the torque and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using engine oil will change the actual torque. Before ordering, confirm your engine code; if you are unsure, we can help you verify it.
