This ARP 253-4701 kit replaces the cylinder head bolts on the Ford 2.5L Duratec V6 with studs. It is one of the first upgrades made to an engine that is going to have its power increased, as the head gasket is one of the first points of failure.
They are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated by ARP themselves to a tensile strength of approximately 190,000 psi. The threads are rolled after heat treatment, which gives ARP studs much higher fatigue resistance, and the final grinding ensures that the head and gasket sit aligned when installed.
Tighten following ARP's sequence and torque values, using their assembly lubricant, as the torque specs provided are designed for it. If you have any doubts about whether this is the correct part number for your engine, write to us with your engine code and year.
