This ARP 260-4701 kit replaces the stock cylinder head bolts of the Subaru EJ20, EJ22, and EJ25 DOHC engines (ARP 2000) with studs. It is one of the first upgrades performed on an engine intended for increased power, as the head gasket is one of the first components to fail.
They are manufactured from ARP2000, a proprietary ARP alloy that reaches a tensile strength of approximately 220,000 psi and maintains its properties under heat better than chrome-moly. The threads are rolled after heat treatment, which gives ARP studs superior fatigue resistance, and the final grinding ensures that the cylinder head and gasket seat perfectly aligned during installation.
