Description

This ARP 260-4704 kit replaces the cylinder head bolts on the Subaru EJ20, EJ22, and EJ25 DOHC (Custom Age) with studs. It is one of the first upgrades made to an engine that is going to have its power increased, as the head gasket is one of the first points to fail.

They are manufactured from Custom Age 625+, a superalloy with a typical tensile strength of 260,000 to 280,000 psi, which is highly resistant to fatigue and corrosion. Each stud is centerless ground after heat treatment to ensure it is perfectly concentric, allowing the gasket and cylinder head to seat in alignment, and the threads are rolled after heat treatment, which ARP states multiplies its fatigue strength by twenty.
