ARP 146-5401 main studs are for the Jeep 4.0L and replace the stock main cap bolts.
With studs, the caps do not shift or rub against the block when the engine is under heavy load, and the block threads no longer suffer during each assembly. The kit includes hardened and ground nuts and washers. ARP manufactures them from 8740 chromoly treated to 190,000 psi, with the threads rolled after heat treatment.
Use ARP assembly lubricant and their torque values, as the load received by each part is not the same with other lubricants. If you have questions about whether this is the correct part number for your engine, write to us with your engine code and year.
