Description

With this ARP 151-5403 kit, the Ford Escort 1600cc main bearing caps are secured with studs instead of bolts.

Their function is to prevent the main bearing caps from moving or rubbing against the block at high RPMs, and they also protect the block threads. They come with their own hardened and ground nuts and washers. ARP manufactures them from 8740 chrome-moly steel heat-treated to 190,000 psi, with the threads rolled after heat treatment.
