With this ARP 151-5405 kit, the main caps of the Ford Duratec 2L and 2.3L (2003+) engines are secured with studs instead of bolts.
Their purpose is to prevent the main caps from shifting or rubbing against the block at high RPMs, and they also protect the block threads. They come with their own hardened and ground nuts and washers. ARP manufactures them from 8740 chrome moly heat-treated to 190,000 psi, with threads rolled after heat treatment.
Tighten following ARP's sequence and torque specifications using their assembly lubricant, as the values provided are intended for it. If you have any doubts as to whether this is the right part number for your engine, write to us with your engine code and year.
