With this ARP 203-5406 kit, the main caps of the Toyota 20R and 22R are secured with studs instead of bolts.
Its function is to prevent the main caps from moving or rubbing against the block at high RPMs, and it also protects the block threads. They come with their hardened and ground nuts and washers. ARP manufactures them from 8740 chrome-moly treated to 190,000 psi, with threads rolled after heat treatment.
Tighten following ARP's sequence and torque values and using their assembly lubricant, as the torque specs provided are intended for it. If you have questions about whether this is the correct part number for your engine, write to us with your engine code and year.
