Description

ARP main stud kit for the Volkswagen VR5 2.3L and VR6 2.8L 2.9L 3.2L, part number 204-5403. These replace the bolts that secure the crankshaft main bearing caps.

With studs, the caps do not shift or rub against the block when the engine is under high load, and the block threads are no longer stressed during each assembly. The kit includes hardened and ground nuts and washers. ARP manufactures them from 8740 chrome-moly steel treated to 190,000 psi, with the threads rolled after heat treatment.

Tighten following ARP's sequence and torque specifications using their assembly lubricant, as the torque values provided are designed for it. If you have questions about whether this is the correct part for your engine, please write to us with your engine code and year.
