The ARP 204-5801 main studs are for the Audi 2.7L Bi-Turbo and replace the stock main cap bolts.
Their function is to prevent the main caps from shifting or rubbing against the block at high RPMs, and they also protect the block threads. They come with their hardened and ground nuts and washers. They are manufactured from ARP2000, an ARP-proprietary alloy that reaches approximately 220,000 psi tensile strength and maintains its properties better than chrome-moly at high temperatures.
