ARP main stud kit for the BMC Austin Healey 6 Cyl, part number 206-5405. These replace the bolts that secure the crankshaft main bearing caps.
Their purpose is to prevent the main bearing caps from moving or rubbing against the block at high RPM, and they also protect the block threads. They come with their own hardened and ground nuts and washers. ARP manufactures them from 8740 chromoly steel heat-treated to 190,000 psi, with threads rolled after heat treatment.
Use ARP assembly lubricant and their specified torque values, as the load applied to each part differs with other lubricants. If you have questions about whether this is the correct part for your engine, write to us with your engine code and year.
