Description

With this ARP 208-5401 kit, the main bearing caps of the Honda H22A and H23A are secured with studs instead of bolts.

In a tuned engine, main bearing caps tend to move under load; studs prevent this and keep the block threads in good condition. Includes hardened and ground nuts and washers. ARP manufactures them from 8740 chrome-moly treated to 190,000 psi, with threads rolled after heat treatment.

Follow the torque and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using engine oil will change the actual torque. Before ordering, confirm the engine code; if you are not sure, we can help you verify it.
