ARP 300-6708 connecting rod bolts are for the Saenz 5/16" - UHL 38.1 mm. Replacing them is almost mandatory when opening an engine that will work with more power, because the stock bolt is the first thing to fail.
They are manufactured from Custom Age 625+, a superalloy with a typical tensile strength of 260,000 to 280,000 psi, highly resistant to fatigue and corrosion. ARP recommends installing them by measuring the stretch, between 0.0055 and 0.0060 inches, with a guide torque of 32 lb-ft (about 43 Nm) using their lubricant. It is advisable to measure the stretch of each bolt and replace it if it has been permanently stretched by more than one thousandth of an inch.
Follow the torque and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; with engine oil, the actual torque changes. If you have questions about whether this is the right part number for your engine, write to us with your engine code and year.
