ARP connecting rod bolts for the Honda B16A, B17A1, B18A1, B18B1, B18C1, B18C5 (M9) (M9), part number 208-6401. The bolt is the weak point of a connecting rod, and these replace the stock ones with others that have much higher fatigue resistance.

ARP recommends installing them by measuring bolt stretch, between 0.0070 and 0.0075 inches, with a reference torque of 50 lb-ft (about 68 Nm) using their lubricant. It is advisable to measure the stretch of each bolt and replace it if it has permanently stretched by more than one thousandth of an inch.

Follow the torque and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; with engine oil, the actual torque changes. If you have questions about whether this is the correct part number for your engine, write to us with the engine code and year.
