Description

ARP 104-6005 connecting rod bolts are for the Volkswagen Formula Vee (M9 Bolt Type) (M9). Replacing them is almost mandatory when opening an engine that will be running at higher power, as the stock bolt is the first thing to fail.

ARP recommends installing them by monitoring the stretch, between 0.0050 and 0.0055 inches, with a target torque of 40 lb-ft (about 54 Nm) using their lubricant. It is advisable to measure the stretch of each bolt and replace it if it has been permanently stretched by more than one thousandth of an inch.
