ARP 204-6301 connecting rod bolt kit for the Porsche 986, 987, 996, and 997 (M9 Bolt Type). In a connecting rod, the bolt is the first thing to fail when an engine is revved high or power is increased, and ARP is the benchmark for this part.
ARP recommends installing them by monitoring bolt stretch, between 0.0095 and 0.0100 inches, with a reference torque of 45 lb-ft (approx. 61 Nm) using their lubricant. It is advisable to measure the stretch of each bolt and replace it if it has been permanently stretched by more than one thousandth of an inch.
Tighten following ARP's sequence and values and using their assembly lubricant, as the torque specs they provide are designed for it. Before ordering, confirm the engine code; if you are unsure, we can help you verify it.
