Description

ARP connecting rod bolts for the Volkswagen 1600cc Air Cooled engine, part number 104-6001. The bolt is the weak point of a connecting rod, and these replace the stock ones with others that have much higher fatigue resistance.

ARP recommends installing them by checking the stretch, between 0.0055 and 0.0060 inches, with a reference torque of 40 lb-ft (about 54 Nm) using their lubricant. It is advisable to measure the stretch of each bolt and replace it if it has been permanently stretched by more than one thousandth of an inch.
