Description

ARP connecting rod bolts for the Ford 1.6L RS Turbo (Hi Perf 8740), part number 151-6001. The bolt is the weak point of a connecting rod, and these replace the stock ones with much higher fatigue resistance.

ARP recommends installing them by measuring stretch, between 0.0060 and 0.0065 inches, with a guide torque of 40 lb-ft (approx. 54 Nm) using their lubricant. It is advisable to measure the stretch of each bolt and replace it if it has permanently stretched by more than one thousandth of an inch.

Follow the torque and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; with engine oil, the actual torque changes. If you are unsure if this is the correct part number for your engine, write to us with your engine code and year.
