ARP 153-6001 connecting rod bolt kit for Ford 2.8L and 2.9L V6 engines. In a connecting rod, the bolt is the first component to fail when the engine revs or power increases, and ARP is the benchmark for this part.
ARP recommends installing them by checking the stretch, between 0.0060 and 0.0065 inches, with a reference torque of 35 lb-ft (approx. 47 Nm) using their lubricant. It is advisable to measure the stretch of each bolt and replace it if it has been permanently stretched by more than one thousandth of an inch.
Use ARP assembly lubricant and their torque specifications, because with a different lubricant the load received by each part is not the same. If you are unsure if this is the correct part number for your engine, write to us with your engine code and year.
