ARP 204-6006 connecting rod bolt kit for Volkswagen VR6 2.8L and 2.9L, VR5 2.3L, and VR6 2.8L 2.9L 3.2L. In a connecting rod, the bolt is the first thing to fail when the engine increases in revs or power, and ARP is the benchmark for this part.

ARP recommends installing them by measuring bolt stretch, between 0.0075 and 0.0080 inches, with a guide torque of 40 lb-ft (about 54 Nm) using their lubricant. It is advisable to measure the stretch of each bolt and replace it if it has been permanently stretched by more than one thousandth of an inch.
