ARP 251-6301 connecting rod bolts are for the Ford Sierra and Escort Cosworth. Replacing them is almost mandatory when opening an engine that will run at higher power, as the stock bolt is the first thing to fail.

ARP recommends installing them by measuring the stretch, between 0.0065 and 0.0070 inches, with a reference torque of 45 lb-ft (about 61 Nm) using their lubricant. It is advisable to measure the stretch of each bolt and replace it if it has been permanently stretched by more than one thousandth of an inch.

Follow the torque and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using engine oil will change the actual torque. Before ordering, confirm the engine code; if you are not sure, we can help you verify it.
