Description

ARP connecting rod bolts for the Volkswagen Super Vee (Audi Rod Bolt Type), part number 104-6003. The bolt is the weak point of a connecting rod, and these replace the stock ones with much higher fatigue resistance.

ARP recommends installing them by measuring the stretch, between 0.0075 and 0.0080 inches, with a reference torque of 40 lb-ft (approx. 54 Nm) using their lubricant. It is advisable to measure the stretch of each bolt and replace it if it has permanently stretched more than one thousandth of an inch.

Follow the torque and tightening sequence in the ARP instructions, which are calculated for their assembly lubricant; using engine oil changes the actual tightening. If you have questions about whether this is the right part number for your engine, write to us with your engine code and year.
