Ver descripción y características

The BR Series is the gateway to BC Racing coilovers and the one that ends up being equipped on the most cars. Each application is developed by testing the actual vehicle until reaching a point that is equally convincing for daily driving as it is for pushing hard on a track day. Inside, it features a 46mm piston within a 53mm body, which is more generous than usual for this range: with more oil, the temperature rises slowly and the damping retains its character for longer. It is adjustable with 30 positions that act simultaneously on both compression and rebound.

Complete kit for all four wheels of the BMW 3 Series E46 RWD (98-06) (excluding M3). It comes in an integrated rear configuration: in the back, the spring and shock absorber form a single assembly instead of being separated as in the factory equipment, which allows for adjusting the rear ride height directly on the shock absorber. It weighs 23 kg. Manufacturer part number I-31-BR-RH.

It features pillowball top mounts on both axles. The front axle allows for camber and caster adjustment, something not available in all applications. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the conical bottom locking collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust boots to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

There are 22 spring rate combinations available, including Cam/Cas and Extra Low configurations. The one BC Racing defines as standard for this car is 6/5 kg/mm.

Before buying

Before installation, the chassis must be reinforced in the area of the rear mounts. The integrated assembly introduces loads that the original setup distributed differently, and BC Racing conditions the validity of the kit on this work being done. This is a job for a specialized shop and should be included in the estimate.

The front pillowball top mounts are a rigid connection, without any elastic element, and in some chassis, they transmit a slight knocking sound to the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber top mounts avoid this effect.
