Description

The DS Series is BC Racing's choice for those who use their car on the track without giving up the ability to drive it on the road. It shares its construction with the BR, but features a digressive valve, which stiffens the response during slow damper movements (braking, cornering, acceleration) and softens it during fast ones, allowing the wheel to rise quickly when hitting a curb. Satin chrome body and 30 adjustment positions.

Complete kit for all four wheels of the BMW E36 Compact RWD (94-00)(). It uses an integrated rear configuration: the spring and shock absorber form a single unit rather than being separate as in the factory setup, which allows for adjusting the rear ride height directly on the shock absorber. Weighs 24 kg. Manufacturer part number I-79-DS-DH.

Front mounts and rear . The front axle allows for camber and caster adjustment, something not available in all applications. The ride height is adjusted independently of the spring preload, and the tapered bottom collar prevents the setting from shifting during use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

There are 7 spring rate combinations available. The one BC Racing defines as the default for this car is 5/5 kg/mm.

Before you buy

Before installation, the chassis must be reinforced at the rear mounting points. The integrated assembly introduces loads that the original setup distributed differently, and BC Racing makes the validity of the kit conditional on this work being done. This is a job for a specialized workshop and should be included in the budget.
