The DS Series is based on the same foundation as the BR but replaces the valve with a digressive one, which tilts it towards track use. It is adjusted with 30 clicks that act simultaneously on compression and rebound, and the shock absorber body features a satin chrome finish. A digressive valve does not provide the same damping at all speeds: when the piston rod moves slowly, such as during braking or cornering, it offers high resistance and keeps the body flat; when the movement is fast, such as when hitting a kerb, it opens up and allows the wheel to rise without transmitting the full impact.
