What the ER Series provides is the ability to treat the two phases of damping separately. Compression is adjusted in 30 clicks from the external reservoir and rebound in another 30 from the top of the shock absorber. In practice, compression controls how much the nose dives under braking, which is where the grip for corner entry comes from, and rebound controls how quickly the suspension extends back up. If the front end unloads too quickly, the car understeers.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the BMW M3 G80 / M4 G82 Competition xDrive (21+). It uses an integrated rear configuration: at the rear, the spring and shock absorber form a single assembly instead of being separate as in the factory equipment, which allows the rear ride height to be adjusted directly on the shock absorber. It weighs 24 kg. Manufacturer part number I-135-ER.
Front mounts and rear . The front axle allows for camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the conical bottom collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
There are 2 stiffness combinations available. The one BC Racing defines as default for this car is 6.5/6.5 kg/mm.
Before you buy
Before installation, the chassis must be reinforced at the rear mounting points. The integrated assembly introduces loads that the original setup distributed differently, and BC Racing makes the validity of the kit conditional upon this work being done. This is a job for a specialized workshop and should be included in your budget.
