Ver descripción y características

The HM Series combines in a single kit what BC Racing distributes across two other series: the inverted monotube shock absorber from the RM and the independent compression and rebound adjustment of the ER. Compression is regulated in 30 clicks from the external reservoirs and rebound in another 30 from the bottom of the shock absorber. It comes with Swift springs as standard. The reservoirs increase oil capacity, improve thermal dissipation, and house the second piston of the linear twin-piston design.

Complete kit for all four wheels of the BMW 3 Series E46 RWD (98-06) Except M3, 6/5 kg/mm. It comes in an integrated rear configuration: at the rear, the spring and shock absorber form a single unit instead of being separate as in the original equipment, which allows for height adjustment of the rear axle directly on the shock absorber. It weighs 24 kg. Manufacturer reference I-31-HM.

It features in the front and in the rear. The front axle supports camber and caster adjustment, something not available in all applications. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the conical bottom collar prevents the setting from moving with use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

Supplied with a single spring rate, 6/5 kg/mm.

Before you buy

Before installation, the chassis must be reinforced in the area of the rear mounts. The integrated assembly introduces loads that the original setup distributed differently, and BC Racing makes the validity of the kit conditional upon this work being done. This is a task for a specialized workshop and should be included in the budget.

The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, and a grease is applied between both parts to prevent metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and replaced periodically to avoid noise; this is simple maintenance that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing directs this series toward track use and recommends BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.
