BC Racing RM Series Alfa Romeo GTV GF-916C1 (96-06) (V6 ONLY)
€1.426,59
Inverting the shock absorber is what sets the RM Series apart. By anchoring the oil and gas reservoir to the body instead of the hub, unsprung mass is reduced: the wheel responds faster to every irregularity and maintains better contact with the ground. That same position protects the oil from the heat generated by the brakes, so the damping remains as consistent on the last lap as it is on the first. It features a 42 mm shaft, which is more resistant to lateral stress.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the Alfa Romeo GTV GF-916C1 (96-06) (V6 ONLY). Weighs 24 kg. Manufacturer reference ZR-05-RM-MA.
The front features an inverted shock absorber with a pillowball top mount adjustable for camber, and the rear features rubber top mounts or no top mount, depending on the application. The front axle allows for camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom collar prevents the setting from shifting during use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Supplied with a single spring rate, 6/8.5 kg/mm.
Before you buy
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, with grease between the two parts to prevent metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to prevent noise; this is simple maintenance that does not require opening or re-pressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing targets this series at circuit use and recommends the BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.
The front pillowball top mounts are a rigid anchor point without an elastic element, and on some chassis, they transmit a slight knocking sound into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber top mounts avoid this effect.
