BC Racing RM Series Audi TT 8J 2WD & AWD (06-14)
€1.499,19
The RM Series features an inverted monotube shock absorber with the oil and gas reservoir at the top, fixed to the body. This layout reduces unsprung weight, allowing the tire to better track the asphalt and stop bouncing on broken pavement. It also moves the oil away from the heat of the brakes, which can travel through the hub during intense use and eventually soften the damping. The 42mm piston rod adds resistance to lateral loads and keeps the steering geometry stable.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the Audi TT 8J 2WD & AWD (06-14). Weighs 23 kg. Manufacturer reference S-13-RM-MA.
The front features an inverted shock absorber with a pillowball mount adjustable for camber, while the rear features rubber mounts or no mount, depending on the application. The front axle allows for camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
There are 3 spring rate combinations available. The one BC Racing defines as standard for this car is 7/5 kg/mm.
Before buying
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, with grease applied between both parts to prevent metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to avoid noise; this is a simple maintenance task that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock. For this reason, BC Racing positions this series for track use and recommends the BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.
The front pillowball mounts are a rigid anchor with no elastic element, and on some car bodies, they may transmit a slight knocking sound into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber mounts avoid this effect.
