Inverting the shock absorber is what sets the RM Series apart. With the oil and gas reservoir anchored to the body rather than the hub, unsprung mass is reduced: the wheel reacts more quickly to every bump and maintains better contact with the road. That same position protects the oil from the heat generated by the brakes, ensuring the damping remains as consistent on the last lap as it is on the first. It features a 42 mm shaft, which is more resistant to lateral stress.

The front features an inverted shock absorber with a pillowball top mount adjustable for camber, while the rear uses rubber mounts or no top mounts, depending on the application. The front axle allows for camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom locking collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
There are 2 spring rate combinations available. The one BC Racing defines as default for this car is 6.5/5.5 kg/mm.
Before you buy
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, and there is grease between the two parts to prevent metal-on-metal contact. It must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to avoid noise; this is simple maintenance that does not require opening or re-pressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing gears this series toward track use and recommends the BR, DS, ER, or ZX series for a daily-driven car.
The front pillowball top mounts are a rigid anchor without elastic elements, and in some vehicles, they may transmit slight knocking into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber top mounts avoid this effect.
