Inverting the shock absorber is what sets the RM Series apart. With the oil and gas reservoir anchored to the chassis rather than the hub, unsprung mass is reduced: the wheel responds faster to every irregularity and maintains better contact with the ground. That same position protects the oil from the heat generated by the brakes, so the damping remains consistent from the first lap to the last. It features a 42 mm piston rod, which is more resistant to lateral loads.

The front features an inverted shock absorber with a pillowball upper mount adjustable for camber, and the rear uses rubber mounts or no mounts, depending on the application. The front axle allows for camber and caster adjustment, which is not available in all applications. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
There are 4 spring rate combinations available, including Offset configurations. The one BC Racing defines as default for this car is 8/10 kg/mm Offset.
Before you buy
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, and between these two parts is grease that prevents metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and replenished periodically to avoid noise; this is simple maintenance that does not require opening or re-pressurizing the shock. For this reason, BC Racing targets this series for track use and recommends BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.
The front pillowball mounts are a rigid anchor, without any elastic element, and in some chassis, they transmit a slight knocking sound to the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover this under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber mounts avoid this effect.
The offset top mount is not available in the HM or ZR versions.
