BC Racing RM Series BMW 2 Series F22 M235i RWD (14-16) (5-bolt TM)
€1.559,69
Inverting the shock absorber is what sets the RM Series apart. With the oil and gas reservoir anchored to the body instead of the hub, unsprung mass is reduced: the wheel responds faster to every irregularity and maintains better contact with the ground. That same position protects the oil from the heat generated by the brakes, so the damping performance remains as consistent on the last lap as it is on the first. It features a 42 mm piston rod, which is more resistant to lateral stress.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the BMW 2 Series F22 M235i RWD (14-16) (5-bolt TM). Weighs 24 kg. Manufacturer part number I-83-RM-MA.
The front features an inverted shock absorber with a camber-adjustable pillowball mount, and the rear uses rubber mounts or no mount, depending on the application. The front axle allows for camber adjustment. The ride height is adjusted independently of the spring preload, and the tapered lower locking collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
There are 4 spring rate combinations available. The one BC Racing defines as standard for this car is 6/9 kg/mm.
Before you buy
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, and there is grease between the two parts to prevent metal-on-metal contact. It must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to avoid noise; this is simple maintenance that does not require opening or re-pressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing targets this series for track use and recommends the BR, DS, ER, or ZX series for a daily-driven car.
The front pillowball mounts are a rigid anchor, without an elastic element, and on some chassis, they may transmit a slight knocking sound into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber mounts avoid this effect.
