BC Racing RM Series BMW 3 Series E92 RWD (06-11)
€1.499,19
The RM Series features an inverted monotube shock absorber, with the oil and gas reservoir at the top, fixed to the vehicle body. This arrangement reduces unsprung weight, allowing the tire to better track the asphalt and stop bouncing on rough surfaces. It also keeps the oil away from the heat of the brakes, which, under intense use, travels up the hub and eventually softens the damping. The 42 mm piston rod adds resistance to lateral loads and keeps steering geometry stable.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the BMW 3 Series E92 RWD (06-11). Weighs 23 kg. Manufacturer part number I-03-RM-MA.
The front features an inverted shock absorber with an adjustable pillowball camber plate, and the rear features rubber mounts or no mounts, depending on the application. The front axle allows for camber and caster adjustment, a feature not available in all applications. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
There are 6 stiffness combinations available.
Before you buy
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, and a grease is applied between both parts to prevent metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to avoid noise; this is simple maintenance that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing targets this series for track use and recommends the BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.
The front pillowball mounts are a rigid attachment, without elastic elements, and in some vehicles, they transmit a slight knocking sound into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty or accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber mounts avoid this effect.
In the HM version, the engine bay strut bar must be removed.
