BC Racing RM Series BMW X1 F48 FWD/xDrive (15-22)
€1.559,69
The inverted shock absorber is what sets the RM Series apart. With the oil and gas reservoir anchored to the body instead of the hub, unsprung mass is reduced: the wheel responds faster to every bump and maintains better contact with the ground. That same position protects the oil from the heat generated by the brakes, so the damping remains as consistent on the last lap as it was on the first. It features a 42 mm rod, which is more resistant to lateral loads.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the BMW X1 F48 FWD/xDrive (15-22). Weighs 24 kg. Manufacturer part number I-106-RM-MA.
The front features an inverted shock absorber with a pillowball mount adjustable for camber, and the rear uses rubber mounts or no mount, depending on the application. The front axle allows for camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Supplied with a single spring rate: 5.5/7 kg/mm.
Before you buy
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, and grease is applied between both parts to prevent metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to avoid noise; this is simple maintenance that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing gears this series toward track use and recommends BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.
The front pillowball mounts are a rigid attachment, without an elastic element, and on some car bodies, they may transmit a slight knocking sound into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber mounts avoid this effect.
