BC Racing RM Series BMW X5 E53 xDrive (99-06)
€1.499,19
The RM Series features an inverted monotube shock absorber, with the oil and gas reservoir at the top, mounted to the vehicle body. This configuration reduces unsprung weight, allowing the tire to better track the asphalt and stop bouncing on rough surfaces. It also keeps the oil away from brake heat, which can travel through the hub during intense use and soften the damping. The 42 mm piston rod adds resistance to lateral loads and maintains steering geometry stability.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the BMW X5 E53 xDrive (99-0 6). Weight: 23 kg. Manufacturer reference: I-76-RM-MA.
The front features an inverted shock absorber with a camber-adjustable pillowball top mount, while the rear uses rubber top mounts or no top mount, depending on the application. The front axle supports camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom collar prevents the setting from shifting during use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Supplied with a single spring rate: 9/8 kg/mm.
Before you buy
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, and a grease is applied between the two parts to prevent metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to prevent noise; this is simple maintenance that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing positions this series for track use and recommends BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.
Front pillowball top mounts are a rigid connection, without elastic elements, and in some vehicles, they may transmit a slight tapping sound into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber top mounts avoid this effect.
