The RM Series features an inverted monotube shock absorber, with the oil and gas reservoir at the top, mounted to the vehicle body. This arrangement reduces unsprung weight, allowing the tire to track the asphalt better and preventing bouncing on broken surfaces. It also keeps the oil away from the heat of the brakes, which, during intense use, travels through the hub and can soften the damping. The 42mm piston rod adds resistance to lateral loads and keeps the steering geometry stable.

The front features an inverted shock absorber with a camber-adjustable pillowball upper mount, and the rear features rubber or mountless upper mounts, depending on the application. The front axle supports camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the conical lower locking collar prevents the setting from shifting during use. Includes dust boots to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

Before you buy
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, with grease applied between the two parts to prevent metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to avoid noise; this is simple maintenance that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing targets this series at the track and recommends the BR, DS, ER, or ZX for daily-driven cars.
The front pillowball upper mounts are a rigid anchor, without elastic elements, and on some vehicle bodies, they may transmit a slight knocking sound into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber upper mounts avoid this effect.
