Description

The RM Series features an inverted monotube shock absorber, with the oil and gas reservoir at the top and secured to the bodywork. This arrangement reduces unsprung weight, allowing the tire to better track the asphalt and stop bouncing on rough surfaces. It also keeps the oil away from the heat of the brakes, which, under intense use, travels up through the hub and ends up softening the damping. The 42mm piston rod adds resistance to lateral loads and keeps steering geometry stable.

Complete kit for all four wheels of the Chevrolet CAMARO (16-24) (without MRC). Weighs 23 kg. Manufacturer reference Q-17-RM-MA.

The front features an inverted shock absorber with adjustable camber pillowball upper mounts, and the rear features rubber mounts or no mounts, depending on the application. The front axle allows for camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom locking collar prevents the setting from moving with use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

Supplied with a single spring rate, 6/12 kg/mm.

Before buying

The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, and between these two parts is a grease that prevents metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to prevent noise; it is simple maintenance that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing targets this series for track use and recommends the BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.

The front pillowball upper mounts are a rigid anchor, without an elastic element, and on some chassis, they transmit a slight knocking sound to the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty or accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber mounts avoid this effect.
