BC Racing RM Series Chevrolet COBALT FWD (06-10) (INC SS)
€1.499,19
The RM Series features an inverted monotube shock absorber, with the oil and gas reservoir mounted at the top and secured to the bodywork. This arrangement reduces unsprung weight, allowing the tire to track the asphalt better and preventing bouncing on broken surfaces. It also keeps the oil away from brake heat, which under intense use travels up the hub and can soften the damping. The 42mm piston rod adds resistance to lateral loads and keeps steering geometry stable.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the Chevrolet COBALT FWD (06-10) (INC SS). Weight: 23 kg. Manufacturer part number Q-01-RM-MA.
The front features an inverted shock absorber with a camber-adjustable pillowball upper mount, and the rear includes rubber or no upper mounts, depending on the application. The front axle supports camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom collar prevents the setting from shifting during use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Supplied with a single spring rate: 6/6 kg/mm.
Before you buy
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed within a threaded body, with grease applied between the two parts to prevent metal-to-metal contact. This must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to avoid noise; it is simple maintenance that does not require opening or re-pressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing positions this series for track use and recommends the BR, DS, ER, or ZX series for daily-driven cars.
Front pillowball upper mounts are rigid anchor points without elastic elements, and on some vehicle bodies, they may transmit a slight tapping sound into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber upper mounts avoid this effect.
