BC Racing RM Series Chevrolet VOLT (16-19)
€1.499,19
The inverted shock absorber is what sets the RM Series apart. With the oil and gas reservoir anchored to the body rather than the hub, unsprung mass is reduced: the wheel responds more quickly to every irregularity and maintains better contact with the ground. That same position protects the oil from the heat generated by the brakes, so the damping holds up just as well on the last lap as it does on the first. It features a 42 mm shaft, which is more resistant to lateral stress.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the Chevrolet VOLT (16-19). Weighs 23 kg. Manufacturer reference Q-20-RM-MA.
The front features an inverted shock absorber with a pillowball mount adjustable for camber, and the rear features rubber mounts or no mounts, depending on the application. The front axle allows for camber adjustment. The ride height is adjusted independently of the spring preload, and the conical lower collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust boots to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Supplied with a single spring rate, 6/6 kg/mm.
Before buying
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, and between these two parts is a grease that prevents metal-on-metal contact. It must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to prevent noise; this is a simple maintenance task that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing targets this series for track use and recommends BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.
The front pillowball mounts are a rigid anchor, without an elastic element, and on some chassis, they transmit a slight knocking sound to the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber mounts avoid this effect.
