The RM Series features an inverted monotube shock absorber, with the oil and gas reservoir at the top, mounted to the chassis. This arrangement reduces unsprung weight, allowing the tire to better track the asphalt and stop bouncing on rough surfaces. It also keeps the oil away from the heat of the brakes, which, during intense use, travels through the hub and ends up softening the damping. The 42mm shaft adds resistance to side loads and keeps steering geometry stable.

The front features an inverted shock absorber with a pillowball top mount adjustable for camber, and the rear features rubber top mounts or no top mount, depending on the application. The front axle allows for camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the conical bottom collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

Before buying
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, and between these two parts is a grease that prevents metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to prevent noise; this is simple maintenance that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing targets this series at the track and recommends the BR, DS, ER, or ZX for daily-driven cars.
The front pillowball top mounts are a rigid anchor with no elastic element, and on some chassis, they transmit a slight knocking sound to the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber top mounts avoid this effect.
