BC Racing RM Series Ford FOCUS MK1 RS (01-04)
€1.499,19
The RM Series features an inverted monotube shock absorber, with the oil and gas reservoir mounted at the top and attached to the chassis. This configuration reduces unsprung weight, allowing the tire to better track the asphalt and stop bouncing on rough surfaces. It also keeps the oil away from the heat of the brakes, which, under intense use, travels up through the hub and eventually softens the damping. The 42mm piston rod adds resistance to lateral loads and maintains steering geometry stability.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the Ford FOCUS MK1 RS (01-04). Weighs 23 kg. Manufacturer part number E-16-RM-MA.
The front features an inverted shock absorber with a camber-adjustable pillowball upper mount, and the rear features either rubber upper mounts or no upper mounts, depending on the application. The front axle supports camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom collar prevents the setting from shifting during use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
There are 2 stiffness combinations available.
Before you buy
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, with grease applied between the two parts to prevent metal-to-metal contact. This must be cleaned and replenished periodically to avoid noise; it is a simple maintenance procedure that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing targets this series for track use and recommends the BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.
The front pillowball upper mounts are a rigid attachment, without elastic elements, and in some vehicles, they transmit slight tapping into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty or accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber upper mounts avoid this effect.
