BC Racing RM Series Ford FOCUS MK3 (11-18)
€1.499,19
The RM Series features an inverted monotube shock absorber, with the oil and gas reservoir at the top, mounted to the vehicle body. This configuration reduces unsprung weight, allowing the tire to track the asphalt better and preventing bouncing on broken surfaces. It also keeps the oil away from brake heat, which can travel through the hub during intense use and cause the damping to soften. The 42 mm piston rod adds resistance to lateral loads and maintains stable steering geometry.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the Ford FOCUS MK3 (11-18). Weighs 23 kg. Manufacturer part number E-21-RM-MA.
The front features an inverted shock absorber with a pillowball mount adjustable for camber, while the rear features rubber mounts or no mounts, depending on the application. The front axle supports camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom locking collar prevents the setting from shifting during use. Includes dust boots to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
There are 2 spring rate combinations available. The one BC Racing defines as the default for this car is 7/5 kg/mm.
Before you buy
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, with grease between the two parts to prevent metal-on-metal contact. This must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to prevent noise; it is a simple maintenance task that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock. For this reason, BC Racing gears this series toward track use and recommends BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.
The front pillowball mounts are a rigid attachment, without elastic elements, and in some vehicles, they transmit a slight knocking sound to the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty or accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber mounts avoid this effect.
