BC Racing RM Series Ford MUSTANG S197 (05-14)
€1.499,19
The RM Series features an inverted monotube shock absorber, with the oil and gas reservoir at the top, mounted to the vehicle body. This arrangement reduces unsprung weight, allowing the tire to track the asphalt better and preventing bouncing on broken surfaces. It also keeps the oil away from the heat of the brakes, which, under intense use, travels up the hub and can soften the damping. The 42mm piston rod adds resistance to lateral loads and keeps steering geometry stable.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the Ford MUSTANG S197 (05-14). Weighs 23 kg. Manufacturer reference E-09-RM-MA.
The front features an inverted shock absorber with a pillowball top mount adjustable for camber, and the rear features rubber top mounts or no top mount, depending on the application. The front axle supports camber and caster adjustment, which is not available for all applications. The ride height is adjusted independently of the spring preload, and the tapered lower collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust boots to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
There are 2 stiffness combinations available. The one BC Racing defines as default for this car is 8/6 kg/mm.
Before buying
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, and between both parts is a grease that prevents metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and reapplied periodically to avoid noise; this is simple maintenance that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock. For this reason, BC Racing directs this series toward track use and recommends the BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.
The front pillowball top mounts are a rigid anchor, without elastic elements, and in some bodies, they transmit a slight knocking sound into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber top mounts avoid this effect.
