Ver descripción y características

The RM Series features an inverted monotube shock absorber, with the oil and gas reservoir at the top, mounted to the vehicle body. This configuration reduces unsprung weight, allowing the tire to track the asphalt better and preventing bouncing on broken surfaces. It also keeps the oil away from brake heat, which under intense use rises through the hub and ends up softening the damping. The 42 mm piston rod adds resistance to side loads and keeps the steering geometry stable.

Complete kit for all four wheels of the Honda ACURA ILX DE FWD (13-15). Weighs 23 kg. Manufacturer part number A-122-RM-MA.

The front features an inverted shock absorber with a pillowball mount adjustable for camber, and the rear features rubber mounts or no mounts, depending on the application. The front axle allows for camber adjustment. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom locking collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

Supplied with a single spring rate, 6/7 kg/mm.

Before you buy

The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, and between both parts is a grease that prevents metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and replenished periodically to avoid noise; this is a simple maintenance task that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing targets this series for track use and recommends BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.

The front pillowball mounts are a rigid connection, without an elastic element, and in some vehicle bodies, they transmit a slight knocking sound into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber mounts avoid this effect.
