BC Racing RM Series Integrated Rear BMW M3 E36 RWD (92-99)
€1.692,79
The RM Series features an inverted monotube shock absorber, with the oil and gas reservoir at the top, secured to the body. This layout reduces unsprung weight, allowing the tire to track the pavement better and preventing bouncing on broken surfaces. It also moves the oil away from brake heat, which can travel through the hub during intense use and soften the damping. The 42 mm piston rod adds resistance to side loads and maintains steering geometry stability.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the BMW M3 E36 RWD (92-99). It comes in an integrated rear configuration: at the back, the spring and shock absorber form a single assembly rather than being separate as in the factory setup, which allows for rear ride height adjustment directly on the shock absorber. It weighs 24 kg. Manufacturer part number I-120-RM-MA.
The front features an inverted shock absorber with a pillowball mount adjustable for camber, and the rear includes rubber mounts or no mounts, depending on the application. The front axle allows for camber and caster adjustment, which is not available in all applications. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and a conical lower locking collar prevents the setting from shifting during use. Includes dust boots to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Supplied with a single spring rate: 6/8 kg/mm.
Before you buy
Before installation, the bodywork must be reinforced in the area of the rear mounts. The integrated assembly introduces loads that the original setup distributed differently, and BC Racing conditions the validity of the kit on this work being performed. This is a task for a specialized workshop and should be included in your budget.
The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, with grease between the two parts to prevent metal-on-metal contact. This must be cleaned and replenished periodically to prevent noise; it is simple maintenance that does not require opening or re-pressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing targets this series for track use and recommends BR, DS, ER, or ZX for daily-driven cars.
The front pillowball mounts are a rigid connection without elastic elements, and on some chassis, they may transmit a slight knocking sound into the cabin. This does not indicate a defect, and BC Racing does not cover it under warranty nor accept returns for this reason. Configurations with rubber mounts avoid this effect.
