Ver descripción y características

The ZR Series brings 3-way damping to a price point previously only reached by much more expensive competition suspensions. Each phase is adjusted independently: 20 clicks of low-speed compression, 12 high-speed, and 30 rebound. Ride height is also regulated independently of piston travel and spring preload. Inside, a digressive piston and a dual piston system are at work, one housed in the shock absorber and the other in the reservoir.

Complete kit for all four wheels of the BMW 3 Series E46 Sedan/Coupe RWD (98-06) Except M3, 6/5 kg/mm. It uses an integrated rear configuration: the spring and shock absorber form a single unit at the rear instead of being separate as in the stock equipment, which allows for rear ride height adjustment directly on the shock absorber. Weighs 24 kg. Manufacturer reference I-31-ZR.

Front mounts and rear mounts. The front axle allows for camber and caster adjustment, a feature not available on all applications. Ride height is adjusted independently of spring preload, and the tapered bottom collar prevents the setting from shifting with use. Includes dust covers to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

There are 2 stiffness combinations available. The one BC Racing defines as the default for this car is 6/5 kg/mm.

Before you buy

Before installation, the chassis must be reinforced in the area of the rear mounts. The integrated assembly introduces loads that the original setup distributed differently, and BC Racing makes the validity of the kit conditional upon this work being done. This is a job for a specialized workshop and should be included in the estimate.

The shock absorber is a cartridge housed inside a threaded body, with grease applied between both parts to prevent metal-to-metal contact. It must be cleaned and replenished periodically to avoid noise; this is simple maintenance that does not require opening or repressurizing the shock absorber. For this reason, BC Racing gears this series towards the track and recommends the BR, DS, ER, or ZX for a daily-driven car.
