Of the entire range, the ZX Series is the one BC Racing targets for competition. The adjustment is split into 3 independent ways, with 30 clicks of rebound, 20 of low-speed compression, and 12 of high-speed. Separating the two compressions allows for fine-tuning how the car settles under braking and turn-in without compromising how it handles curbs. Monotube with digressive piston, double piston, high viscosity index synthetic oil, and an external reservoir to delay overheating.
Complete kit for all four wheels of the BMW 3 Series E36 RWD (92-98) (except M3). It comes in an integrated rear configuration: the spring and shock absorber form a single unit rather than being separate as in the stock equipment, which allows for adjusting the rear ride height directly on the shock absorber. The front axle allows for camber and caster adjustment, something not available in all applications. The ride height is adjusted independently of the spring preload, and the conical bottom collar prevents the setting from moving with use. Includes dust boots to protect the seals and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
There are 4 spring rate combinations available. The one BC Racing defines as standard for this car is 6/5 kg/mm.
Before buying
Before installation, the chassis must be reinforced in the area of the rear mounts. The integrated assembly introduces loads that the original setup distributed differently, and BC Racing makes the validity of the kit conditional upon this work being done. It is a job for a specialized workshop and should be included in the budget.
